Halloween is October’s most fun holiday, so throw a party and celebrate. But before that, go on some Halloween dates. You will love all of these ideas and even if scary and spooky Halloween things aren’t your thing, you can always walk or drive around and peak at the fun and colorful decor.
If you’re throwing a bash and you need some inspiration, this article is it. Here are the orangeiest, most pumpkin-like, Halloween eats and drinks you need. Just use these food and drink ideas, throw up so spooky decor, and you’re almost ready to go. You don’t need much more than this to host(ess) the best holiday party around.
Orange Jello for Pumpkins
Get yourself a pumpkin molds tray, some orange jello, and some water, and you’ve got the stuff for jello pumpkins. Make the jello, pour the molds, and let them set. Doesn’t the saying go, “Everyone has room for jello,” or something like that? Plus, it’s orange and in the shape of a pumpkin, how much more festive can you get?
‘Blood and Guts’
If you’re looking to serve the most gory and chunky drink any Halloween party has ever seen, this is it. Make “Blood and Guts,” which is red wine sangria with long, thin apple skin slices. Take a paring knife and carefully cut the skin going around the apple to create long thin apple ‘ropes,’ to resemble intestines. Add chunks to create the guts, some suggestions for this are apple, pineapple, melon or whatever other kind of fruit you want to add to your sangria.
Make Pumpkin-Shaped Snack Trays
Get yourself some pumpkin cookie cutters, and go wild! You could cut anything for your party with a pumpkin cookie cutter including fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, sausage, brownies or other bars and so much more. And pumpkins are the name of the game this season, plus, who doesn’t want to eat a cute little snack in the shape of a pumpkin? Everyone wants pumpkin-shaped food so give the people what they want. (It is the season of the Pumpkin Spice Latte after all!)
Use Festive Dishware
And along with pumpkin-shaped foods, make sure to use festive serving plates and dishes. Dishware with ghosts, pumpkins, ghouls, witches, scarecrows, or other Halloween characters are in season, and will be so fun for your drinks, treats, and snacks.
Apple Peanut Butter and Raisin Faces
This is such a fun idea and would be super cute and delicious as a party snack. Cut the apples sideways using the apple to make a ‘pumpkin’ shape. Wipe the slices with lemon juice to prevent browning. Take a nut butter (peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter, etc) and spread it over one side of the apple slice. Use raisins to make pumpkin faces or write fun words like ‘boo’ or ‘ahh!’
Apples with Peanut Butter and Jam for Bloody Pumpkin Faces
For bloody pumpkin faces, prepare the pumpkin faces as explained as above. Add strawberry or raspberry jelly and smear it all over the peanut butter to create peanut bloody and jelly apples. (See what I did there?) You could also decorate the peanut butter apples with jimmies, candy corn, sprinkles, chocolate candies or anything else you want. It’s nothing if not the holiday for candy, so do it up.
Other food ideas for your Halloween table:
- Orange Carrots and Bloody Dip (use a salsa or red pepper dip)
- Avocado hummus (to emulate a gangrene inspired dip)
- Yellow and Blue Corn Chips with Salsa
- Nacho Cheese with Red Pepper Tortilla Chips
- Black Licorice
- Jager Shots and a red chaser (for bloody black shots)
Throw a Themed Bash
Whether it’s a costume party or a masquerade ball event, it’s Halloween, so you have to include some kind of dress up angle to your party. Along with the alcoholic drinks, have masks people could add to their outfit at the door. Masquerade masks would be a fun and easy addition for anyone to just slip on and add to the fun.
Or Call it a Costume Party
After all, if this isn’t the holiday for dressing up, I don’t know what is. Come one, come all, but come in a Halloween costume. Costume ideas that are popular in 2018 range from Kim Kardashian to Wonder Woman. And remember, you can always be a character from Fortnite this year because who doesn’t know about Fortnite.
Host a great party with premade jello jigglers, lots of festive Halloween looks, and even some bloody good drinks. Cheers and Happy Halloween.
